Drupal 6.14 Out, Who’s Using It?

November 6th, 2009

So I noticed Drupal 6.14 is out. Guess what, I still haven’t tried this CMS yet. I’ve been meaning to, but I’m so busy with Wordpress and Joomla, I haven’t had time to yet. There sure are a lot of good things said about the CMS, just check out some of the webmaster forums, nothing but positive reviews. I just wonder if there are a lot of mods for this CMS, I couldn’t even find a section on Drupal’s homepage. I’m sure there are, but is it a large database like Joomla? I highly doubt it.

I notice a lot of people knock Joomla because it’s resource hog. But I have to say with all its plugins, there’s are lot of ways you can make money off of Joomla. I’m not going to get off topic here though, back to Drupal.

I was checking out Drupal’s feature section, I have to say I’m very impressed. It’s great to see the capability of producing static urls for SEO. Modules is a plus, this allows you to input Google Adsense anywhere on your site. I also checked out some of the free and commercial templates, they sure do look sharp. Not as flashy as Joomla, but just as good as Wordpress. Be honest with you I see a lot of similarity between Wordpress and Joomla. I just think Drupal would probably be better for community buidling. Why you might ask? Because Drupal’s login/register format is totally front end, Wordpress makes users login/register in the back end.

Over the next few days I’m going to have to make some time for Drupal, looks like I could make a very effective website with this CMS.
